Native of a family of griots known in Dakar, native to Casamance, Cherif Nana Cissokho learned music by himself and inherited the talent of his father Soundioulou Cissoko, the « king of the kora » from Senegal. Since ten years old, Nana has been dedicating himself entirely to his passion for music and singing. He played in Dakar with his brothers. Young adult, he followed his way as a and performs in different cities of the Senegal. He played with the band Alalaké.
In 1994, pointed out for his talents, Nana came in Europe to perform a tour with the Dougoufana Band. Settling in Switzerland since 1994, he produced his first cd « Baralalou ». Since 1998, Nana, nicknamed « the urban griot » has been playing with various Africain groups (Safara, SafSap, Maguette N'Diaye and Keur Sénégal).
In 2006, with his friend Po, he produced the cd « Doxandem » in Dakar. From 2006 till 2009, Nana played with the band Taffetas. They produced together « Cameleon ».
In 2010, Nana created the band « Nana'n'kho » and produced the CD Doumadioulo, an album mixing afro-beat and kora fusion patterns.
