Le trio est composé du griot sénégalais Soriba Sakho au chant et à la kora, de Sérigne Gueye « Groove Masta », sénégalais de Dakar, à la calebasse et au chant, et de Benjamin « Ben » Body à la contrebasse.
Originaire de la région de Tambacounda au Sénégal, Soriba est issu d’une famille de griots de père en fils depuis 7 générations et poursuit la tradition familiale en apprenant la kora auprès de son père – Bemba Sakho - et de son oncle – Aladji Mbaye Kouyate – originaire de Gambie. Il débute sa carrière musicale à l'âge de 14 ans, puis il vient en France en 2007 et enregistre son premier album en 2010 intitulé « Dialinatale ». Il donne des concerts en France et à l’étranger (Algérie, Italie, Allemagne, Belgique, Suède…) avec son groupe Gnomouto, et accompagne de nombreux chanteurs africains comme Baaba MaalMulti-instrumentiste de talent et chanteur au registre impressionnant, bien qu'il se fasse le chantre de la cause peulhe, Baaba Maal ne tire pas moins son inspiration de nombreux chants du folkore mandingue... Bassiste, contrebassiste et compositeur, Benjamin Body poursuit une carrière riche et éclectique. Après une solide formation classique dans plusieurs conservatoires, il explore les différents chemins musicaux qui s’ouvrent à lui : jazz, chanson, musiques traditionnelles (d’Europe de l’Est et des Balkans, musique américaine et plus récemment africaine). Depuis une quinzaine d’année il a donné de nombreux concerts en France, en Europe, aux Etats-Unis et en Asie avec différents groupes : La Caravane Passe, Balval, Bratsch, Carmen Maria Vega… Egalement ethnomusicologue, il a une formation de Master en Ethnomusicologie à l’université de Nanterre.
Né à Dakar, Sérigne Gueye est un percussioniste spécialiste des musiques africaines. Il poursuit une carrière d’accompagnateur auprès de nombreux artistes africains avant de partir s’installer à Amsterdam dans les années 90. Il collabore avec différents artistes belges et néerlandais dont le Janna Trio et participe au spectacle La création du monde avec Aurélie Dorzee. Kora, doublebass, calabash… Manding Kabou band has been created from the meeting of 3 musicians in Paris ; the band inspiration is deeply rooted in the Manding traditional repertoire. The members of the trio are the Senegalese griot Soriba Sakho on lyrics and kora, Sérigne Gueye « Groove Masta », from Dakar, (calabash and lyrics), and Benjamin « Ben » Body on bass.

Read more. family since 7 generations and has walked on the footsteps of his family learning the kora by his father père – Bemba Sakho - and his uncle – Aladji Mbaye Kouyate – from Gambia. He began his career since he was 14, then he came in France in 2007 and he recorded his first album in 2010 (« Dialinatale »). He toured many times in France and abroad (Algeria, Italy, Allemagne, Belgia, Sweden…) with his band Gnomouto, and played with many great Africans singers such as Baaba Maal, Toure Kounda or Sayon Camara.
Bass, double bass player and composer, Benjamin Body rules a great and eclectic career. Since he achieved a solid classical formation in many classical music high schools, he has been willing to explore different musical ways : jazz, traditional songs and musics (East of Europ and Balkans, American music and recently African). He toured in France, Europ, United States and Asia with many bands : La Caravane Passe, Balval, Bratsch, Carmen Maria Vega… He is also ethnomusicolog, after he has achieved a master in Ethnomusicology at University of Nanterre.
Coming from Dakar, Sérigne Gueye is a percussionist mastering Afro rhythms. He has carrered as drummer of many African artists before he settled in Amsterdam in the 90's. He played with many Belgian and Dutch artists like the Janna Trio and has been a guest star in the show La création du monde with Aurélie Dorzee.
