The genesis and the spirit of their work is well described in the CD booklet and on Playa Sound web site: « An amazing meeting between Dialy Mady Cissoko, jeli and senegalese kora player and three French musicians at the border of the jazz. The originality of this work appears in the efforts made to approach and respect the Mandinka musical culture.
The musicians progress according to the basis set by Dialy Madi Cissoko so as to integrate without deteriorating the traditionnal Mandinka surroundings. A fruitful musical blend leading to a harmonious whole, Kambe Quartet, also represents the hearty exchanges and the magic of improvisation. »
